Create and edit a product

A product is the catalogue record for something you sell. Creating it does not by itself add stock or make it available in every sales channel.

Before you begin

Know the product name, the price you want to charge and whether it will be sold in POS, online, or both.

Steps

  1. Open Products and choose Add Product.
  2. Enter a clear Product Name, then choose the product Type that fits what you sell.
  3. Choose a Category and Base Unit where they apply. These help keep your catalogue organised.
  4. Enter Cost and Retail Price. Add a Wholesale Price only when you have a qualifying wholesale workflow.
  5. Choose Tax only when it applies to this product. Add an image, SKU or barcode when useful.
  6. Choose Show in POS and/or Show on online storefront, then save.

What happens next

Receive stock into the warehouse that will fulfil the sale, then check the product in the relevant selling channel.
